Difference between industrial electron accelerator and gamma radiation source

Compared with 60Co, the power is large, generally from several kW to several hundred kW;
The dose rate produced is 3 to 4 orders of magnitude higher than that of 60Co;
The direction is concentrated and the energy utilization rate is high;
High production efficiency, suitable for large-scale irradiation industrial processing;
Radiation protection is relatively easy, there is radiation when the machine is started, but not when it is turned off;
When the electron energy is less than 10 MeV, no induced radioactivity is produced.
 

Disadvantages of electron accelerator:

The low penetration of electron beam limits its application.
